My best friend's 7-year-old daughter Kendall was just diagnosed with cancer.
Her mother Caroline struggled for 10 weeks to find out why her little girl was crying in pain daily and losing weight. At first, she was misdiagnosed with juvenile arthritis, but Caroline's instinct knew there was something very wrong. After another long night of listening to her daughter cry in pain, she went back to the doctors where they finally discovered she has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
The great news is that the doctors say Kendall should be able to fight this battle and survive. The bad news is that Kendall must start chemotherapy immediately. The first 30 days will be the hardest...followed by 9 tough months for Kendall's little body. She will undergo treatments for about 2.5 years. As a single mother, Caroline will not be able to work this first year and will have to remain by her daughter's side. My goal is to help raise enough money to help Caroline pay the bills, while her daughter is in the fight for her life. Thank you so much. Kendall will still plan to cheer on her friends at gymnastics meets this year when she is feeling strong. She's a fighter and I hope you will join us to keep the fight strong.
