Help Karie and her Family!

Karie and her family need our help!

On January 24th Karie had a routine tubal ligation surgery. Unknowingly her small intestine was pierced. While seemingly recovering at home her body went into shock and sepsis. Her organs were starting to fail and her body was shutting down. On January 29th Karie was rushed to the hospital where she faced multiple invasive surgeries, heavy antibiotics, weeks on a ventilator, and nearly a month in ICU.

On March 1st Karie came home. However, her journey to a full recovery is not over. She and her family need our help. They are facing unknown medical bills and purchasing medical equipment to accommodate her home care. Karie is still facing daily vacuuming of her wound and lingering effects on her organs and limbs from sepsis. Karie is not able to work for the unforeseen future and Dave owns a small business that is struggling. They are living off Dave's retirement income as a former Marine.

Many of you already know that Karie is first and foremost a mother to little Warrior Willie (almost 5!). Willie was born with severe congenital heart defects that have had them in and out of hospitals his entire life. (here is the story: https://www.gofundme.com/f/2abze7vv40). Never did they think Karie would be the one fighting for her life.
