DAZE Short Film Crowdfunding

Dreaming Creatives Inc. (DCi) is a creative agency in Washington, DC, and we are raising money for our short film DAZE. The script was written by Julia "Jewels" Proctor, a DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia) native and Film Alumni of The Art Institute of Washington. 

Jewels have previously worked for BET, Okeefe Communications, National Institutes of Health, and currently at Mnemonic Creative agency. She is well versed in all aspects of creativity and truly drops "jewels" in her writing style. 

After Jewels lost her dad in August of 2020, she tried to be strong and be supportive of her family. Then the holidays came, and she had to come to terms with no longer having any living parents. She allowed herself to grieve and in her grief, she wrote DAZE.  Although Jewels and the lead character (Khari Brooks) are nothing alike, they both have to come to terms with the loss of their parents. 

Khari Brooks is loving his single life until he wakes up repeating Saturday like “Groundhog Day” meets “How to be a player." Initially, Brooks will take advantage of his newfound gift until he has to face the past to see the error in his ways to get out of the DAZE.

The money raised will go towards production costs. DAZE will be screened and then aired on a streaming service where a portion of the proceeds will go towards a mental health organization.
