Daystar Evangelical Ministries is a Ugandan non-profit that provides education, medical care, and spiritual support to the families of Namalemba village. Daystar's founder, Irene Ganiriza, because a friend of mine when we were both 19. Since then, I've felt God calling me to support her ministry in a variety of ways.
Right now, Daystar is raising support for the following needs:
1) A van ($12,000 USD): This van will be life-saving for medical patients who need urgent transportation to a comprehensive hospital. It will also help transport school and clinic equipment.
2) Church construction ($8000 USD): Daystar's temporary tin and wood structure has been compromised by termites, so they are in the process of building a brick structure to ensure the safety of church members.
3) Teacher Housing: Any additional funds will go towards providing housing for the teachers at Daystar School. Schools in rural areas are expected to provide housing for their teachers, and we've recently lost two highly skilled teachers due to inadequate housing. Building quality housing will help us attract and retain excellent educators, which means kids receive excellent instruction.
The Forgotten International has agreed to a 50% match (up to $10,000) of every dollar donated towards this campaign!
