So as of Monday 20th July I have officially been on HRT for a month, I am DIYing as the wait for the GIC was so long, I was denied a bridging prescription by them in advice to my GP and then COVID-19 hit which has obviously made the wait even longer, but now being on HRT my dysphoria has started to lift slightly, knowing that things will now slowly start to change, I’m so so looking forward to finally being able to live outwardly as my true self and to finally feel comfortable in my life but there is still this final hurdle, my facial hair..
It’s very dark and grows in very quickly, I know sometimes HRT can help this but still barely, especially with how dark mine is. It’s frustrating also because I have eczema I’m unable to shave as often as I’d like and wearing heavy, full coverage foundation dries out my skin so much so that the foundation will start to crack and break apart after about 4/5hrs of wear.. on top of this I’ve tried every colour corrector under the sun and even using the thickest full coverage foundation there is still a slight shadow there (you can even see it in the right photo above despite me having also tried to edit the photo so it wasn’t as obvious) and it really does crush my spirit.. I know this may sound silly to some people but it affects me so much and it is the main thing that’s stopping me from living as female presenting full time.
Now with COVID hopefully (fingers crossed) lifting I’m hoping to soon be able to start laser treatment, I’d like to be able to raise the funds in full as paying in bulk is cheaper than session by session but any help is hugely appreciated!!
