First and foremost, we covet your prayers for Paul, Belinda and their family.  We may not understand, but God's will is perfect and we trust him completely.  Dee will need radiation in New Orleans every day. Travel back and forth is required. Any help you feel led to give is greatly appreciated and will help with lost wages while getting treated, travel to and from New Orleans as well as tremendous medical expenses.    Belinda lost her job of 21 years in 2016.   Belinda was the one who carried their health insurance through her employer.   They were able to continue the COBRA until last summer at a very high rate.   Since losing COBRA, they can only afford an individual policy for Dee.   They have very high premiums with very high deductibles and co-pays.  Since Belinda lost her job 2 years ago, they have depleted their savings & retirement accounts.   Anyone who knows Paul & Belinda...  know they are always the first in line to help someone else.  In all these years, they have never once asked anyone for anything.  They now NEED our help.  Please consider giving... any amount will help!

From the beginning-
Dee was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostatic cancer in 2006. At the time, the cancer was in his spine, pelvis, prostate and 2 small spots in his liver. The liver was biopsied to be certain the spots were indeed cancer. 9+ years later, he’s been through lots of hormone, radiation, and chemo treatments. In 2016, he had part of his liver removed and parts of it that couldn’t be removed were “microwaved.” His cancer has never been in remission, just able to be treated so that it wouldn’t spread. For the last 1.5 years, his treatments have not been able to keep the cancer from growing. He now has active spots in his liver again, spine, pelvis, liver, ribs, and abdominal lymph nodes. His cancer is very aggressive and the doctor says he has “mean tumors.” Normally, prostate cancer is not aggressive and most people die with it,  not because of it.  He has a genetic mutation that he was born with called BRAC2. This mutation increases your chance of having breast, prostate, colon, or pancreatic cancer by 80%.

Dee has been on chemo 24/7, since August but it is not working on all of the tumors. Just last week, he came home from work barely able to walk.  He was admitted to Tulane hospital where the MRI showed another tumor at the base of his spine in a place called the “ horses tail.”   The doctors also found  pathological fractures caused from bone metastasis, one on the pelvis and one vertebrae.  He Immediately began more radiation to help shrink the tumor, as it is “encroaching his spinal cord and can eventually cause paralysis.

Thank You for your consideration and God Bless!
