Hello,
My name is Carol and I have set up this Go Fund Me for my dear friend and neighbor, Dawn O'Lear McClelland.
For all of you who haven't heard Dawn was diagnosed in November 2017 with stage 2B Triple Negative Breast Cancer which also spread to her lymph nodes. This is a very aggressive form of Breast Cancer and chemotherapy treatment for this type of cancer is just as aggressive and done for a long duration of time.
Dawn has completed her first cycle of chemotherapy that began back in November 2017 and will be starting cycle two the week of March 5, 2018, which will last approximately 5 to 6 more months. Surgery to remove the tumor will follow chemotherapy. A decision if she needs radiation will be made after surgery recovery.
As you can imagine multiple testings, eight months of chemotherapy, weekly doctors visits, surgery and possibly radiation, Dawn's medical bills are already astronomical and she still has a long way to go.
I accompany Dawn to her weekly Chemotherapy sessions and it's so hard to see someone you love get so sick from her treatments. What is even harder though is to see someone who is so sick have to worry and stress her rising medical costs as well as her monthly household expenses. Her focus right now needs to be on herself and fighting this horrible disease, not stressing and losing much needed sleep over her financial situation.
Dawn is permanently disabled, trying to live on a fixed income and now hit with cancer on top of that. This is my reason for starting this fundraiser for Dawn. I'm hoping it can help alleviate some of the stress she is under so she can just concentrate on beating this cancer. Any donation will be greatly appreciated and I know will help Dawn immensely. No amount is too small, every bit helps.
