Many of you know her as a long-standing member of the Woodstock Rescue Squad, many from her job as a Dental Tech, and many as the lady behind the music at venues. However, if you know her you are aware of her never-ending spirit. Dawn is a warrior among warriors. Through all of her battle, Dawn has still done her part on the Woodstock Volunteer Rescue Squad, her latest being Captain and running calls even through treatment. Please if you can take the time and read some of her stories, help if you can or just repost Thank you in advance.: In Dawn's words: I was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2014 in my left breast. Had chemo, a double mastectomy and radiation. Also, oophorectomy to remove ovaries and fallopian tubes as the cancer was estrogen positive. Her 2-. After being placed on tamoxifen for 10 yrs. Was in remission for almost 4 yrs when, Jan 2018 I found a lump, in the same area. Diagnosed with a reoccurrence. Started oral chemo which worked for exactly 18 months and it returned to my sternum (2019). Cancer deemed triple negative as my very little estrogen. Started new oral chemo, with hormone blocker which the tumor grew. Changed up the chemo to Iv infusion and went back to no evidence of disease. In 2021 it returned again and had a mastectomy and new tx as cancer became her 2+ which opened up new avenues of meds. Did 6 rounds of chemo and a year of immunotherapy finishing July 2022. Was on a hormone blocker 1 x a month which has also stopped working. The ultrasound of my chest showed a spot that 6 months ago they said was fat necrosis had changed and is now stage 1. In my right breast. Since cancer has always been in the left breast and now in the right, more tests were ordered. The bone scan showed T8 and T6 on my spine. I went for the more extensive bone test which showed T6 T8 suspect T4 T5 in my left hip and C3. I am very fortunate that I have been able to work throughout all my treatments with very few side effects.

<div>I was told that I will have to be on chemo for an unknown amount of time. Thank God I have had great insurance up till now. I am currently looking into alternative treatment, which will be all out of pocket.
