Davy Surgery: Getting Leg Amputated

Donation protected

Hi FB Friends! A lot of you know this already, but I rescued my St. Bernard Davy from Operation Kindness the Summer of 2015. Rescuing him has been one of the greatest joys of my life, and as you may already know, he is the sweetest, kindest, goofy boy on the planet! His story hasn't been an easy one, which makes him that much tougher. Also, in the last few months, if you didn't already know, I was laid off due to Hurricane Harvey from my last job and have re-started back at CBS Radio (yay), but creating a new book of business takes time and patience and it sadly doesn't happen overnight.

Before I rescued him, he was hit by a bus in Waco, Texas and shattered his left leg and had two collapsed lungs. Sadly, he was left on the streets to die and was found many days later and brought to a kill shelter. Then, Operation Kindness stepped in and rescued him from the brink of death, but due to the amount of time not treating the wound, Davy always had a limp. His limp nevr stopped him though from having a happy life in Dallas being the most spoiled dog on the planet.

I always thought his limp would get worse, but not at the speed and progression it has occured. As of last Friday, Davy is unable to use his bad leg and will be scheduled next week for an amputation surgery. With that being said, it wont just be surgery costs; it will be medication, x-rays, ct scans, etc....you name it.

Any bit of help counts and I truly feel awkward and uncomfortable even creating this GoFundMe page, but I am struggling to get by with these payments. Even if you can't donate, just even sharing this page will help me tremendously.

I will do anything for my dog, but one of the biggest hurdles I have encountered in regards to funding for his treatments are the insurance companies. Pet insurance was one of the first thoughts I had when asking myself how I was going to pay for everything. Unfortunately, this surgery falls under the category of 'pre-existing conditions'. Therefore, Davy's condition is not covered under these plans, hence this GoFundMe page.

Although there are plenty of pressing issues and grave circumstances among those in the world, pets have a special place in our hearts which is why this means so much to me. Davy is without a doubt a memeber of my family and I will always care for him like so. Given that Davy is still young, I strive to protect him from the confusion of losing his leg and to continue to his active, fun-filled lifestyle. If you have had the chance to know and love Davy, or if you are a fellow dog lover and know the special bond with one, any donation is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed.

I can't thank you enough  for your generosity and kindness. It means the world to me that you care for Davy that much and every bit  helps. Thank you x 10000.
