David's Christmas Wish

Donation protected
This money is being raised on behalf of Lawrence and Nicole Thompson’s family to offer support for the ongoing accumulation of medical bills since their middle son, David (5), suddenly became ill.

On December 7th their lives were turned upside down when David was hospitalized and later transported by Air Ambulance from Reno to the Stanford Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, CA to be treated for acute kidney failure. All three boys had caught E. coli, and while luckily their oldest and youngest sons, Noah and Joel's bodies had fought it off, David did not fare as well.

The entire family rushed to Stanford to be there with David where he had to undergo dialysis and multiple blood transfusions. This is ongoing and has been a roller coaster for the family, with David having many ups and downs. His respiratory system failed, but luckily they were able to revive him and he has seemed to bounce back.

David has had rough luck with his health since infancy, where he first began to have cyclical migraines, which still persist, and being allergic to peanuts and eggs. No child deserves to hurt like this, and he has already undergone so much pain in his 5 years of life. Despite all of this, he is a very bright and active boy, and as you can see from the picture, he has been absolutely SUPER during this entire process, continuing to be the sweet, fun-loving boy that he is!

Lawrence and Nicole Thomson are active members in the Fernley community where Lawrence does contractor work and Nicole teaches Kindergarten. They are very involved in their church, Grace Baptist, and are always the first people to welcome new members to the neighborhood. They are also the first to offer a helping hand when when anyone needs it.

While their focus has been on their children, the medical bills have been piling up out of control, well over the $100,000 goal set. This is ongoing, and they are not expected to be able to bring David home for at least a month if all goes right. No family should have to go through this, let alone during the holidays. Now is the time to return the favor and to help them during this trying time. They are not the type of people to ask for help, but they absolutely need it, and I can think of no other people more deserving of our love and support.

Any amount helps and even if you are not able to help financially, sharing the post and any thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.

Thank you and God Bless!
