Davids accident recovery help

Many of you know by now that on September 13, I fell from a scaffold, while doing a painting job.  This resulted in some rather serious injuries, including a broken pelvis and fracture of the T8 vertebrae. After an initial hospital stay, a transitional care facility was my home for the past month. They gave me very good care and my dear wife, Carolyn was with me every day, bringing me cheer and extra help. Now I am at home in beautiful Morro Bay, in a hospital bed, with Carolyn as my home nurse. I will continue to get physical therapy to help me with walking and other functions. I am not able to sit, only to lie down and to stand and walk a little. I am grateful to be alive and to have some mobility, but it may be many months before I can sit, move around comfortably and do normal things like being a part-time Uber and Lyft driver, and do some ground-level painting. No more scaffolds for me! In the meantime, Carolyn can’t work because she has a full-time job taking care of me, which she does very well.  

It is difficult to be self-employed, on a tight budget and not be able to earn a living. I don’t know how I am going to pay the mortgage, pay all the bills and put food on the table for the next six months. There have been extra expenses in the past month as well. I estimate that it will take $10,000 to keep us going until I am able to work again. I will be very appreciative of any assistance that comes my way.
