David's 2yr Mission in Ecuador!

This is David Morrison from For Today's fundraising page for his 27 month missions term of ministering the Gospel in Ambato, Ecuador. I leave in September of this year (2012) with Extreme Nazarene, and I have to raise $35,000 to cover all costs and food while ministering in Ecuador. Missionaries are completely volunteer based, so there is no pay, but we have plenty of bills and needs while there. I encourage you to pray and ask the Lord what he would ask you to do, and give accordingly. By giving, you are partnering with this ministry and believing with me that the Lord will do great things!

Not everybody is called to give financially, or able to. I am seeking out as many people as possible to commit to spending time on their knees praying for this ministry daily. God is going to do a mighty move in Ecuador, and your intercession will play a large part in it. Partner with me as we change the nation!
My Calling:
"I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart." - Psalm 40:8
In April of this year, we were having our daily bible study before the show, praying for the people we would be ministering to, and the Lord spoke to me loud and clear saying "David, you're going to be a missionary". He didn't say when, where, or how it would happen. After that I spent the next 6 weeks on my face in prayer before the Lord, and just growing closer to Him in His word, looking for signs, and listening for His voice. Part of that time included researching and praying about different organizations and missions groups. It wasn't until May that God spoke to me again saying "You're going to South America in September with the 40/40's" (a part of Extreme Nazarene www.extremenazarene.org). I was shocked, nervous, excited, and happy all at the same time! I even tested the spirits to make sure it wasn't just me making something up. It had lightninged outside my window 5 minutes prior, and 2x I asked the Lord "if you really 100% want me to go to South America in September, flash the lightning" and both times the millisecond I said "flash", the lightning instantly flashed and I never saw lightning again that night!
"The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. - Psalm 12:6
He also told me I needed to quit the band, sell my stuff, and move out of my apartment to prepare for September! So I'm doing all of that, and He is good. The amount of money that I have to raise may seem like a lot, and some would say that quitting a successful ministry and career for a new one overseas is "stupid", but the Lord is faithful and His words are pure! I have no fears.
"The one who calls you is faithful, and He will do it." -
1 Thessalonians 5:24
He has never forsaken me, EVER.
"And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You." - Psalm 9:10
That is my story, and some of the many verses that the Lord has spoken over me that I've been meditating on with this radical calling to leave everything for the sake of the Kingdom.
Jesus said all throughout the Gospels that the Harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.
