David Morrill Memorial Fund

David Alan Morrill died unexpectedly on Sunday March 12th at the home  he shared with his girlfriend Dorothy Sabolevski in Newfane, VT.  As with all unexpected deaths, his family is left reeling with the emotional upheaval caused by the death of a loved one.  In addition, David’s family has faced catastrophic hardships including the loss of both parents, a sibling and the current battle of beloved brother Steve with cancer.   They have reached the end of their rope and this is where we come in.  We’re going to be that lifeline for them.

I am speaking as the former wife of David. It’s an odd place to be almost 10 years post the end of our relationship to help raise funds to lay him to rest.  I’m here as a friend, as a person who knows despite the struggles he had in past 10 years he is owed a peaceful place to rest next to his parents Joe and Janice.  Please help us give that to him.

The purpose of this fund is to raise enough money to pay for any expense related to his death.  To cover the cost of his cremation and buy a simple gravestone.  We would like to also cover the cost of helping his beloved dog Jasmine to her resting place.  She’s almost 16 years old now and in declining health.  He wasn’t able to let her go and as an act of mercy we’d like to give her a peaceful journey too.  In some ways we know that he’s waiting for her.  (Please note, that on Friday March 17th, with a private direct donation, Jasmine's fees for Veternarian Services were covered.  She was well cared for by the loving supportive staff at Westminster Animal Hospital where she had been a patient since being adopted through the Windham County Humane Society years earlier.).

All funds donated will be managed by "Diana St. Amand" in the name of David's Family: The Morrill's of Newfane, VT.  Any money left after we cover these expenses will be donated in his memory and Jasmine’s to the Windham County Humane Society.  Jasmine was a rescue from there and David’s love of his dog knew no bounds.  We feel this is a fitting tribute.

The Morrill family and Dot,  sincerely appreciate your kind words, thoughts and prayers during this time.

Somewhere in heaven there’s a patch of woods with steep trails and a mud hole that David is driving through.  The sound of his favorite music fills the cab of his truck as his arm dangles out the side and he lets out a soft sigh and a smile because he’s now at peace.
