Asking for help is the hardest thing to do.
July 13, 2017 the day our lives changed. My dad went in for some urgent tests after he was experiencing pain that sent him to urgent care. I dropped my dad off at the hospital for what we thought was a routine day test. My sister was going to pick him up when she was done work, a few hours later my dad told us that they weren't letting him leave the hospital.
We stayed long days with dad in hospital waiting for an operation, a diagnosis and a prognosis. We finally got our answer, stage 3 colon cancer.
The tumor was removed and dad is recovering. The journey has just begun and it's a long hard road ahead.
My father has always been a strong influential pillar in my life, and he has been to many others. He has never hesitated To Help others, strangers, people he barely knew, friends and family alike. Whether they were broken down on the side of the road, needed to move, build, or fix he is there for anyone who needs it.
David is a self-employed welder and due to the turn in his health has been unable to work regularly and now while recovering from surgery, not at all. During treatment, it will be unlikely that he will be able to work as the smallest injury could cause major infection, with a lowered immune system could be life threatening.
My father is an old school humble country boy and asking for help is the last thing he would like to do. We all need some occasionally. If you can, please help ease the burden and make the financial side of this process lighter so dad can focus on his battle and his recovery. Any amount will be accepted with great gratitude, even if all you can do is share this campaign, it would mean the world to us. Â
