David to Adhisthana

I am writing to ask for your support to help a friend of mine, guitarist and mitra from Tenerife, David Minguillon. David has been invited to the five month Dharma training course at Adhisthana which begins in August this year. In order to be able to participate he will need to raise over £ 2000 = € 2300

David, who is 35 years old, is a professional guitarist, with both a classical and jazz training and also with an interest in and knowledge of flamenco. He is a great musician-a real poet at the guitar. He also writes his own music. 

He is an intelligent, kind and creative guy and has a very deep desire to learn more about the dharma especially as taught and presented by Bhante Sangharakshita. He is a very sincere dharma practitioner who became a mitra 18 months ago and asked for ordination six months later.

Since I met him over two years ago he has made many changes in his life: he came to live in the men's community in Valencia and proved to be a natural at community living, not surprising given his generous and warm nature. He is by nature an ethical man and therefore the practice of the precepts is something he finds inspiring and takes very seriously. I have noticed he is particularly conscientious in his desire to develop skillful speech.

I know David will benefit greatly from the course and my sense is that his full five-month immersion in the dharma life will also have a very positive effect on the sangha here in Spain- especially on the other Spanish guys who have asked for ordination. I am also sure that he will have a very benign influence on the course and will make a positive contribution to it.

For all of the above reasons I urge you to support David with whatever amount you are able so that he can make the most of this opportunity that is being offered him.
