David Pernick's Recovery

In mid-October David Pernick, my dad, was diagnosed with Covid-19. On October 30th he was placed on a ventilator for 7 days. The odds of survival were definitely not on his side and the doctors gave us little hope. By the grace of God he was successfully extubated and is finally on the road to recovery. After some time in and out of the ICU dad is finally in a rehabilitation center. It is planned that he will be there for at least a month until he has the strength to go home. It is likely that life will never look the same again for him. The doctors don't know how much his lungs will heal or how much strength he will get back. He will likely need to be on oxygen for a long time. 

The apartment that David and Annette currently share is a second floor walk-up without an elevator. When David is able to come home he will not be able to return to their apartment. Annette has been diligently looking and was able to find an accessible apartment for them so David can continue his rehabilitation at home with his wife.  David has not worked in almost 2 months and is not known when/if he will be able to return to work. 

Our family is in need of financial support. There are substantial costs associated with moving unexpectedly. They will also be adjusting to a new income as disability only pays a portion of the income needed. Obligations are piling up and the future is anything but certain. 

We are incredibly grateful for all the prayers and well wishes so far. Our family received the most precious gift in getting more time with dad. Please consider easing the financial burden on my mom and dad so they can focus on healing.
