David Miller vs AML Leukemia

Donation protected

Anyone that has ever met David Miller knows 2 things for sure about him: he is a hard worker and he loves his dogs. He strives for perfection in all his jobs, which sometimes number up to 3 at once, because he could not imagine life without any of his beloved 6 Presa Canario dogs. But what you may not know is that since February 2016, David has been fighting the nasty beast of AML Leukemia.

David has had many extended stays at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. His last stay endured for 9 long weeks. It was touch and go for a time in there, and when he returned home to recuperate under the watchful eyes of BoHunk, Tonka, Willa, Oates, Bode and Powder, he was still unable to return to work for several weeks.

The good news is that for the second time in 2 years, David is now in remission. But his fight continues. His first remission only lasted 9 months. Usually, there is less time between remissions as the AML progresses. David and his fantastic team at DHMC have opted to schedule a bone marrow transplant in September. This means an additional round of chemo later this month and then a longer hospital stay and even longer recovery period after the transplant. David will be unable to work any of his 3 jobs for possibly as long as 1 year.

We know that David is going to kick AML but the financial aspect is becoming more real every day. With no work, there is no income. But the rent and utilities still need to be paid so he has a house to come home to after his transplant. Not to mention, how is he going to afford to keep his dogs fed? Rehoming this breed of dog is not an easy task, but would also be kicking him when he is already down. Anything you can do to help David so that he can concentrate on his health and not worry about having a house to come home full of dogs is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!
