David Martin & Family Medical Fund

Last weekend, Mandy brought David to the hospital as he had intense leg pain and could not walk, accompanied with a high fever.  He was diagnosed as having a very significant infection and sepsis which ultimately required the amputation of one of his legs.  The most-recent surgery seems to indicate that the infection may be contained which is wonderful news!  

For those of you who don't know David, he is a hard-working, caring, strong, and kind man.  He is always looking out for others and putting others' needs before his own.  He and his wife, Mandy, have a smart, beautiful, and fun daughter named Ella.  

The Martins will face many unplanned costs over the next several years - medical costs that are not fully covered by their insurance, the cost of prosthetics, and the cost of re-outfitting their home to make it accessible for David when he is allowed to return home.  It will be a long and tough recovery, but we are confident that David is up to the challenge! In addition to David's medical situation, Mandy has a condition where she has been getting exceptionally bad migraine headaches and her treatment will also require surgery.  Despite battling terrible headaches, Mandy has been at David's side night and day caring for him the past few days. 

Mandy and David have asked for prayers for David (please keep sending them)!  But we (his family and friends) think we can also help them with all the unexpected costs they will be facing during this trying time.  

We have no doubt that David, Mandy, and Ella will get through this tough time  with the support of their family and friends, the great doctors caring for both of them, and with their strong faith.  We would appreciate any prayers and/or donations you can provide -- large or small -- to support their family.
