David Finn Liver Transplant Fund

Donation protected
On December 21st, 2017, David Finn and his family received one of the most wonderful gifts that can be given in life, a second chance.  David was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 2012 and subsequently with liver cancer in November 2016.  He was officially placed on the liver transplant list in November 2017.   Amazingly, just a short wait later, on the evening of December 20th, he received the call from the Mayo Clinic that they had found a liver for him!  The liver transplant operation was performed the next morning on the 21st.  The operation went smoothly and without complications.  He is currently recovering well and is in very good spirits!

David will be recovering from his transplant surgery at the Gift of Life Transplant House in Rochester, MN for up to 3 weeks. He will continue his recovery at home for another 6 months.  During this time, he will not be able to work.  Both he and his wife, Paula, are self-employed, which means there is no sick time or disability insurance to offset the cost of being out of work. Paula will also be out of work for several weeks as David’s caregiver.  Although David has insurance, not all of the medical and personal expenses are covered.  Medication, travel, housing, parking, and meals are adding up quickly.

It is with a humble (and thankful) heart that we ask for donations to assist them with this expense and life altering journey.  Any amount is greatly appreciated but if you can’t donate, your prayers and positive thoughts for a smooth recovery are also greatly appreciated.
