David Ellis Leukemia Fundraiser

Our much-loved friend, and gentle bear of a man, David Ellis is suddenly shockingly ill. Over the festive season David started feeling incredibly tired. He attributed it to working tirelessly during the bushfire season as a volunteer in the Rural Fire Service in 2019 in Darawank, Bobin, Tarbuck Bay and Charlotte Bay. Unable to shake the fatigue he did some routine blood tests with results showing that he has a very aggressive form of leukemia, acute myeloid leukemia. David was given 7 days to live unless he immediately commenced intensive chemotherapy. He is being treated in Newcastle.
Treatments are varied and uncertain at this stage. It is clear that there is a long road ahead for David and Michelle. We want to provide urgent financial relief to take the financial pressure off David and Michelle so they can focus on each other, David’s recovery and their much-loved children and step-children Anita, Dean, Matthew, Dekan and Grandson Vedder.
David and Michelle are pillars of the Pacific Palms community. Dave helped build the Sandbar Golf Course. All their children have done Nippers and all went to Pacific Palms Public School and high school in Forster. Dave was previously a co-owner of the Oasis Petrol Station.
David is a Life Member of the Pacific Palms Surf Life Saving Club. He has been active in Surf Life Saving for 28 years in which time he has performed countless rescues and saved many lives.
He also performs many other roles at the Pacific Palms Surf Life Saving Club including Duty Officer, trainer in surf life saving, Club Official, President twice and Licensee. David is one of the five head of the Call out Teams of the Pacific Palms Surf Life Saving Club. David works training others in first aid training and his work has again, indirectly, saved and helped another untold number of lives. His volunteer work in the Rural Fire Service in 2019 in our community was both selfless and brave and his commitment always is unwavering.
He is a hero. David and Michelle both are. And now we need to help Dave and Michelle while they work to save his life.
Please help the Ellis family by donating generously and sharing widely. All money kindly donated will go directly to David and Michelle to immediately assist in transport, accommodation, future medical expenses and so much more.

There will be open invitation community events to celebrate and fundraise money for David Ellis, a good bloke and great mate. These will be communicated soon. However, in the meantime, thank you for your generous support.
