David Corbett-Cawthron's Cancer Battle

Donation protected
About one week after Easter of this year, my brother, David Corbett-Cawthron, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.    The cancer started in  his tongue, and spread to his lymph nodes, and caused the glands in his neck to become swollen. The swollen glands were the only symptom, at that point, but he knew that something was not  quite right and promptly made an appointment with his doctor.    They performed a biopsy and at the time, David thought it was only precautionary, but when he got the results, he and our entire family were beyond shocked.     The good news of his diagnosis is that the type of cancer he has, is treatable, and has a very high success rate, but the bad news, for David is the treatment is one of the worst anyone could ever go through. Since the cancer is in his tongue, throat and neck, it's going to become impossible to eat, swallow, or even talk. Currently, he is on his 2nd week of radiation, and chemo. After weeks 4 and 5 are when he will become very ill and will have to use a feeding tube in order to be properly nourished.   The last thing my brother, Dave, the big strong United States Marine, would want to do is ask his family and friends for help. He has always supported himself, and his two 13 year old fraternal twins, Owen and Autumn, without issue, but he is going to need help to get through this.    Dave works in construction, currently on a long term project out of state. He has been driving down to Connecticut every Sunday night, and returning every Thursday after work for more than a year, but he cannot work down there and receive his daily radiation, and weekly chemo treatments in Danvers, MA. Unfortunately, if you are in the construction business, and you do not work, you do not get paid.   Dave has insurance, so his main concern isn't even the medical bills, as much as it is providing for his family, and recovering fully without being under mountains of debt. He will be out of work several months, and bills will continue to pile up.   The rest of our family would like him to not have to worry about going into debt, but to focus all of his energy on his recovery and kicking cancer's ass.     Please donate if you can. It would really help David and his family at this critical time of his life. Thank you and God bless.   #Cancersucks
