Dave & Friends Charity Skydive
Donation protected
I plan to do a sponsored skydive for charity in June
2013.
I'm turning 30 in May this year and want to raise money for some cause's which have affected me in my life so far. My aim is to encourage some of my friends and family to jump with me and raise awareness and as much money for three charities, namely CanTeen, Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association and Ataxia Ireland (formerly Friedreich's Ataxia Society Ireland). The funds raised will be split between each charity equally.
I have carefully chosen these charities for various reasons. My mam was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease in 1996 and died 2 years later at the young age of 38. I myself was then diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2000 (aged 17) which progressed into lung cancer, I am happy to say I will be 12 years in remission this May. In 2011, my cousin with whom I shared my birthday with passed away after a long battle with Friedreich's Ataxia, aged just 26. Together we shared our 21st and 18th birthdays.
Turning 30 is a milestone in my life which one day I never thought I'd reach, I have seen first-hand the excellent work all these charity's do and almost feel duty bound to pay each and every one of them back somehow.
