Dave Scull aka "Biscuit"

David Scull, brother, son, uncle, friend, lover of all things Louisville, sports radio host, amazing cook, and world's biggest Cardinal fan, had complications from an acute illness that led him to be in a medically induced coma for the past month.

Thankfully he is slowly coming back to us and his prognosis is good, but he will need be in the hospital for quite a while to recover the physical function that he has lost. He will need extensive physical and occupational therapy as he re-learns how to breathe on his own, walk, and perform all of the other tasks of daily living and, consequently, will be unable to work for a while.

Dave's friends have been steadfast in their prayers and support of Dave and the entire Scull family throughout this ordeal, and have repeatedly asked how else they can be of help. Some have suggested the creation of a fund for Dave to help bridge the gap in income until he's able to work again, and we feel this would be a great way for us all to support him as he navigates the next few months.

Dave's father K.C. Scull & mother Micheleen Scull along with his sisters have spent countless hours in the hospital with Dave and traveling from all over to make sure that Biscuit has the best care possible.

We hope this fund will help relieve his financial stress so he can focus on healing and building back his strength. We are humbled and eternally grateful for the tremendous support that the community has shown Dave thus far, and are so thankful for your support of this fund as well.

Love from Dave's family and friends...

UPDATE 10/31/2019, 8:14 p.m. -  WOW!  You guys are incredible!  In 12 hours we've nearly reached our initial goal.  I've bumped the goal upwards so as to ensure that those who have pledged donations for tomorrow (Friday) will be able to contribute.  Thank you so much for all of your help!  -  Mark Blankenbaker

UPDATE 11/7/2019, 11:00 a.m. - I wish there was a bigger word for "THANK YOU".  The response Dave has received from so many people has been nothing short of amazing.   Over the past week Biscuit has made steady improvements and is starting to make serious progress.  He still isn't ready for visitors, but Dave is now aware of the outpouring of love and support from everyone who has supported him during this difficult time.   It will be a long road to recovery for Dave, but every day gets a little bit better and I'm excited each time I hear from his mom about the improvements he's made.   -  Mark Blankenbaker
