UPDATE - NOVEMBER 2019  November 11th, 2019 Dave passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side. Dave had worked at Music World for over 20 years, and was a man of many skills in the repair shop.   A husband, father, and mentor to so many people, his reach was far and wide, and his legacy will live on for years to come.   Dave was looking forward to a restring event at Music World, as this type of community outreach is exactly the type of thing he loved to be a part of.  Sharing his knowledge and skills with customers and doing top notch work on their instruments.   His wife and family could use some support for ongoing and new medical bills. Thank you for your generosity and support! Calling all musicians and the music community! Dave Zarzana needs your help with funding for a recent open heart surgery! He had to have a heart valve replaced and repair done for an aortic aneurysm.    In mid-august, he underwent this invasive procedure to replace a valve that had caused a murmur since birth.  Typically 97% of people with this condition never have any issues but Dave fell in the 3% of needing the replacement.  After many months of chest pain and dizziness, doctors confirmed he needed a replacement fast as it was close to failing.  After the surgery was a success, he was informed that the valve was only about 2 weeks from failing!  We are so thankful that he made it in time and is now on the road to recovery.  Complications with the surgery prompted a pace maker to be installed a few days after it was completed.   Life can take unexpected turns and we all know how it can flip finances upside down in a blink of an eye.  Especially when it comes to something as serious as open heart surgery.  Like many others, Dave had a gap in health insurance and is in need of financial support.   Dave has supported the music community for 25+ years with his service in the music retail industry and as a guitar and string repairman at Music World.   Many of you, teachers and musicians alike have been on the receiving end of his amazing work and dedication to getting things right for his customers.   He would like nothing more then to be back in the shop right now doing what he loves, but he is still on the long road to recovery and has still not been released to work.  There are a few setbacks with getting his blood consistency at the right levels, but we are confident he is going to be fully recovered.  Please help Dave and his family with these medical bills if you can, any contributions of any amount will be greatly appreciated!
