On Thursday, August 31, 2017, Dave Adams of Extreme Off Road & Repair, was off-roading the Rubicon Trail near Tahoe with a group of four wheel drive friends. The first day on the trail Dave took a really bad fall and shattered one ankle and broke the other. This small business owner in Clovis, California is my brother and one of the hardest working, kindest, most generous souls you will ever meet. I have started this GoFundMe account on his behalf and without his knowledge.
Dave’s first surgery was Friday, September 1st. External fixation devices were placed in the left ankle.
His second surgery is September 20th. At that time the external devices will be removed and both ankles will be pinned with plates. Dave will be in a wheelchair for four to six months. The prognosis is good; however, the expenses are huge. As a small business owner, he has insurance, however, he has a high deductible. Dave’s son, Corbin Adams, and daughter, Shelby Adams, also work at Extreme. Our mother, Jeanette Adams, volunteers at Extreme on a daily basis and helps with the business and Dave’s personal finances. Help is needed! Donations will be used to offset the deductible, co-pays, lost wages, expenses related to wheelchairs, shower chairs and all the other things a person in a wheelchair may need.
Dave has been off-roading in the Sierras, the Pacific Dunes and deserts of California, Nevada and Utah for years. Many have benefited from his generosity and kindness – whether it be getting fixed on the trail, getting work done on their rigs at Extreme, or through his membership with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue. Dave is generous with the use of his tools, shop and advice.
