Dear friends and family,
Many of you may or may not know of my husband Davids diagnosis of multiple myeloma bone cancer. The doctor has described his type of cancer as a marathon because it will never be completely gone, but we are hoping for a lengthy remission. His cancer started out as a local tumor on his rib bone called Plasma Cytoma. He received 5 weeks of radiation. After that we thought everything would be good. Shortly after he broke his rib bone due to deterioration from cancer and radiation. Worsening pain up his spine led to more Mri and pet scans showing numerous tumors all over his body. His bone biopsy showed he had a rare aggressive form of multiple myeloma. Progress can only be tracked through painful bone marrow biopsies. His latest biopsy showed he has responded to chemo treatments and yesterday he received a hefty dose of chemo and today he will have a bone marrow transplant. We all call him superman because he has gone through numerous scans, radiation therapy, several bone marrow biopsies, and continuous lab draws like a champ. It has been a very scary and stressfull time for us. It has been necessary to travel out of town for most of his treatments as we live in a small town. It will take a village to take care of all the mounting costs of travel,medical ,transportation, house expenses etc.
We are so thankful for the care and compassion we have already received.
We have been asked by several people how they can help contribute. We are humbled and grateful for friends that care supporting us through prayer and are willing to help.
For those of you who don't know Dave personally, he is one of the most generous, caring, humanitarian people I have ever known. He has been our households main and sometimes only source of income and with a giving heart. I would like to provide him with some source of relief from our financial stess so he can focus on recovery. (Ps. Today is our 26th anniversary! I love you baby <3!)
