February 19, 2018 - A message from Angela McCabe
David has gone to be with his Lord. We love you all.
Dave McCabe was a very popular and well loved musician, in Western Washington, who performed with the Rock Band, “Cavernous Groove”, and was also an integral part of the Blues Community for many years as the House Drummer at Unbound Jam at the Madision Pub in Everett.

We went to the Providence Cancer Center today to follow up on blood work he had done last week. He has been having more digestive issues lately, and has not been feeling that great on an off for awhile now as you all know. The blood work they took last week showed that he had protein in his blood that had been carried over possibly from his Kidney. There can be several reasons for protein in the blood, and we found out those reasons today.
There are several things the doctors will be looking at. One is called Benign MGUS - which is just a fancy way of saying that they aren't sure why the protein is there, but they need to treat it as it can cause organ damage.
The other possibility is Myleona Amyloidosis - this is more serious. It is a blood condition that can affect multiple organs including the intestines/kidneys/and nervous system and bones. Basically it is a form of Leukemia and is often associated with hereditary and exposure to chemicals etc through a persons lifetime which may also explain the Thyroid cancer as well.
We have had some time to digest this information and are still trying to digest it as it were. Dave goes in for a Bone Marrow extraction next Tuesday and a full Body scan as well to check for bone lesions. We covet and appreciate all your prayers and positive thoughts at this time. We will still be trying to get out to the Jam and Dave as well when he feels up to it. I have provided links for those who would like to read up on these conditions:
