Dave Marrese - Loss of income from injuries

Dave was dealt a tough blow when he ruptured his right Achilles on February 2nd. He had surgery and was told he would be off work for a few months. He wasn't able to meet the full duties of his day job at the Yellowhead Youth Center and was forced to stay home on short term disability (70% wages). Because the injury was to his right leg, Dave has been unable to drive and earn a side income with Uber as he normally does on his days off. He got through February and March by living off his savings and looking forward to his return to work.
As Dave healed, he was given the 'OK' by his surgeon to start physiotherapy on March 25th. Unfortunately, last night (March 30th) Dave had a major setback when he had a fall at home. He not only re-ruptured his right Achilles, but also broke bones and toes on his left foot - making him completely immobile this time.
For those of you that know Dave, he prides himself on helping others and isn't one to ask for the same generosity in return. From the children he works with at the Yellowhead Youth Center to the Bantam Girls lacrosse team he's committed to coaching, Dave just loves being around people. He often jokes about how the money he makes an an Uber driver is secondary to the enjoyment he get from meeting new people everyday and making small talk. This injury has really rocked Dave's moral as he is more or less house bound at this point. He was really working hard at staying optimistic through the first half of this road to recovery; it's been devastating to find out he is back at the starting line.
The timing and nature of these injuries has created quite the perfect storm financially. Dave's seasonal contract for coaching at the St Francis Xavier Lacrosse Academy ended the day before his initial injury. He is unable to work his day job at the Yellowhead Youth Center or drive for Uber. Additionally, he will not be able to referee lacrosse this summer as he usually does. All things combined, Dave is now only receiving 30% of his monthly income. He is in a very tough spot as over the last two months he has tapped all his savings and moving forward will have a very hard time making ends meet.
He would never ask for the help so I am creating this page to give others a place to assist him through his injury. Anything helps. And knowing Dave, I think more than anything he would love for friends to drop by for a visit or take him out for a movie.
