Dave Kai-Piper's Rehabilitation Costs & Expenses

Many of us know Dave Kai-Piper as the official tour photographer and videographer for Bowling For Soup when they tour the UK each year. He's also a well-respected portrait and fashion photographer, travel photographer, magazine contributor and generally all-round decent guy. To me, he's a good friend who's always up for a chat about the latest photography kit or on hand to explain how to use Photoshop properly. I've started this fundraiser with Dave and Stephanie's permission.
As you may know, Dave was knocked off his motorcycle by a hit and run driver on Sunday 18th October 2020. The impact was directly on his left leg below the knee, causing multiple fractures including an open (compound) fracture of the left tibia and fibula. This was serious enough to be a limb-threatening injury, although that is thankfully looking less likely now. He is currently being treated at University Hospital in Coventry by the Specialist Orthoplastic Team. Dave's treatment is going well and he is in good spirits. However, he is in a lot of pain and is about to undergo a 12 hour operation where the surgeons will attach tibial nails to reconstruct his leg with permanent metal rods.
As a result of this accident, Dave is facing a long road to recovery as well as medical expenses, care fees and legal fees. Dave and Stephanie are also going to incur significant costs on home equipment to make him comfortable and help his rehabilitation.
2020 has already been pretty tough for Dave, as it has been for many. He has just retrained as a motorcycle instructor and was about to start his new career on 19th October, the day after his accident. That, of course, isn't going to happen now.
If you can spare anything to help Dave with these unexpected and completely unfair costs, that would be very much appreciated. Dave has asked me to emphasise that any donations are strictly for his immediate and future medical care and wellness expenses.
