Hey friends,
As most of you know, I have been a sculptor for several years and have done pretty well with my work.
OPPORTUNITY
Recently I answered the call to move to NY to attend art school. I applied and was accepted to the Grand Central Atelier which is located in New York City, and to my delight on April 15 this year I was awarded their single, first-year, full tuition scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year.
However, as hard as I’ve worked since then, I have not been able to come up with enough money to make it through the school year in NY. Although I received a full first year scholarship, worth over $8,000, it strictly covers tuition only and will not subsidize the $8-10,000 I will need over the course of the year to pay for rent, food, art supplies and metro fares. The scholarship is not deferrable to next year, so I will lose the scholarship if I do not attend this year.
HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP
Until now, all of my attempts to make money for school have failed, but despite it all, I cannot find it in me to give up yet, and it all has come down to this point. A few weeks ago I had the idea to create a crowd funding campaign to raise what I need to attend school. My hope is that every one of my friends would be willing to donate just $25-$100 or more towards my living expenses. If I can get several people to donate, I will have enough to make it through the year.
I believe that my attendance at GCA will be a pivotal stepping stone in my career and in what God wants to do through my life. I am asking that you would consider donating to this venture and sow into what God is doing. If you are unable to give money, please give your prayers. Please pray for me and pray that God will give me overflowing joy and use me for His glory, to carry His Presence to people, cities and nations. I believe He will do it, so let’s change the world together!
