As many of you know from Facebook, Lindsay was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in June of 2013. Her type of thyroid cancer, tall cell papillary carcinoma with BRAF mutation, is a type with two mutations in the gene which makes it harder to treat.

Lindsay originally went to the Cleveland Clinic for surgery to remove her thyroid after a diagnosis with Graves' disease. At the time she did not know she had cancer.

Since her diagnosis she has had two additional surgeries in the last year. The most recent was in May 2014. They have now determined that her cancer has mestatisized to beneath collar bone, making treatment even more difficult. At this time the doctors at Cleveland Clinic can not come to an agreement on what the next steps should be.

At 33 years old and with two young children at home, one with Autism, Lindsay would like to seek a second opinion. However, as of the end of last school year Lindsay is unemployed and her insurance is refusing to pay any additional medical bills.

That is why we have come to you, Lindsay's friends and extended family, to ask for help. Lindsay and Mike have exhausted their savings covering her treatment to this point. We would like to raise $5,000 to help cover the cost of a second opinion and assist her family in this time of need. Anything you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
