SIMON ZAK  STORY:

Rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare form of pediatric cancers. On November 28, 2016, Monday after THANKSGIVING, it was shocking for us, the parents, to learn from doctors at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA ) that Simon been diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma.

For the first few days, we were scared. Nonetheless, after being consulted by a great team of oncologists and other specialists at CHOA, Svetlana, and Yury, the parents, became STRONGER EMOTIONALLY AND SPIRITUALLY.  We gained STRENGTH, COURAGE, and HOPE FOR THE RIGHT CURE AND GREATER  CHANCES FOR  SIMON'S BEATING HIS SARCOMA.

Since the date of his admission to CHOA Simon has undergone multiple rounds of chemotherapies, multiple CT scans, and MRIs.

Our research for the best treatment options for Simon's sarcoma led us to believe that Simon's surgery and radiation must be performed by the best expert-oncologists in pediatric cancers in New York and New Jersey.  On March 23, 2017, the surgical pediatric team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York City performed a very successful surgery for removing his tumor.

Surgery and post-surgery treatment at MSKCC,  the 4-week of proton radiation treatment and additional chemotherapies at St. Peters University Hospital in New Jersey have become normal daily events for Simon's family. Our boy is too little yet to understand how serious this diagnosis has become a threat to his health. And that is OK with us, his parents. Simon will learn about his experience with cancer later on. For the time of his treatment, Simon has been supported by his parents, relatives, and friends who provide him with a lot of smiles, hugs, and hope. We, Simon's parents, have been taking time away from work and school to support our 5 y.o. boy with love and care. As months go by and treatments produce positive results (as we all pray and hope for) we will teach our boy to be strong and persevere his fight for a cure.

Please join us to help our family to fight for Simon's survival. WE KNOW YOUR SUPPORT AND PRAYERS WILL BE ANSWERED. YOU ARE SUPPORTING THE FIGHTER AND ADMIRING SURVIVOR.
