Darrick Cook

I received news from Thailand that my brother, Darrick Cook, was in the hospital on life support. He has been on a ventilator since August 2nd.  He went in there with a congestive heart failure and currently has a collapsed lung, and an infection throughout his body. His in an induced coma and his temperature has been around 103 everyday. 

I am going through a lot of complications right now because he has medical in the USA but it will not cover his care over in Thailand.  With this being said, doctors are working with him but not giving him the proper treatment that he needs for his condition. 

Below is an update I had received from the doctor a few days ago:

Mr. Darrick Cook has the same condition. He still has fever cause by pneumonia. The tracheal suction culture result showed multi- drug resistance(MDR) bacteria. (Acinetobacter Baumanii ) The treatment of MDR bacteria is both complicated (with very high risk for side effects) as well as it comes with high costs. Since this is a private hospital and your brother is obviously not sufficiently insured the treating doctors together with the management of the hospital need to decide what is the most cost effective treatment within the boundaries of Thai legislation.

I have started this gofundme as a fund for our friends and family to help pay for Darrik's growing medical expenses. I greatly appreciate any help I can get! Keep Darrik in your prayers, and I will update this as I hear news.
