Darren Rainey (Dagwood)

Darren Rainey is someone we all know and love! He has always brought a light to situations and I have rarely if ever heard of anyone having a bad experience when he was around. Darren is a person who will help whenever and wherever he can and has no problem showing up for people when they need help the most. As his little sister, he has always been the seemingly indestructible guy that couldn’t be stopped. He has always seemed bigger than life and there wasn’t anything that would stop him if he didn’t allow it to. Being the oldest of the six of us, he always led fearlessly and made his "big brother-ness" felt in the best way he knew.

Sadly, reality has reared its ugly head and something has faced Darren with the challenge of his life. If you haven’t been informed, this past July Darren was officially diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung cancer and is running out of time and options. Darren has stopped working due to the pain caused by the disease and can no longer contribute in providing for his family. Furthermore, the cost of medicine and effective treatment have greatly impacted Darren’s financial well-being. Lynn and Darren have had to take time off which has also impacted their day to day life to include finances.

I know if I were in his position and he could, Darren would do his best to help me in whatever big brother way he could. I know Darren would call me Molly in his big voice and would reassure me with his grin and quick wit, comforting me and making my believe everything was going to be okay. I’m sure many of you can relate and have a great number of similar stories and/or experiences.

Now it’s my turn, I am asking if at all possible, for those who can and are willing, to donate to this page.

Darren will leave behind a wife, baby girl Kerrington, daughter Chloe and Micah. I know he will be most concerned about them being taken care of. Darren would also not want to leave a burden for Lynn and his children and would want them to focus on being happy, not paying the bills for his medical care. If you can donate that would be great, I know this will ease Darren’s mind and the minds of our parents as they find their way through this tragic and ill-timed reality. Darren will lean on his faith in Jesus, family, and friends through this and his comfort and quality time with his family, is the main focus of this page.

Our goal is $5,000.00 to help with medical expenses.
