Money to make memories - time is precious ❤️

So... this fundraiser is to provide quality of life to my younger brother,  who in February 2017, at the age of 41, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and less than two years later is now paralysed from the neck down and communicates via his eyes only. MND is an illness that we know all too well in our family, having supported our Dad whilst he faced it from 2003 - 2005.
We now face this cruel illness again. It feels even more cruel second time around however as the children impacted this time aren't 28 and 30, but 10, 8 and 2. His medical team and MND team provide such things as access to eye gaze technology and the council were due to adapt his terraced house with a much needed ground floor extension to provide him with an accessible wet room and bedroom. MND may well be relentless but so is the support he gets from family and friends and his strength of spirit amazes me every day! So hopefully we can show him support and love - and a mega donation!
Whilst the council were due to be part funding this necessity (assessing him as eligible for a grant of £40k towards the work) he needed to contribute, hence the request for a little help from a lot of people.
As Darren's MND has progressed we have been able to use the generous donations of money and time from family and friends to help provide wheelchair access to his home and mums home (where Darren stays 3days a week to provide respite for his wife)  ❤️
...Nearly a year on, the council have still not started work on this and they want a £30k contribution.  They have stated they could have made a start sometime in early 2019, had we got £30k. Darren would have been required to move out to Mums for the 4 month duration of the work as the building work would have been too detrimental to his health and but we had mums place ready to accommodate him during the building work so that was ok.... but of course hadn't expected the council to want anything close to a £30k contribution on top of the £40k grant!
Darren spent Christmas 2018 and New Year 2019 in John Eastwood Hospice. It was during this period that his wife made the decision that she no longer wanted to live with her husband and her step children. Whilst Darren's situation is now very different to this time last year, our Mum has taken in him and his boys and I continue to support him in every way I can and hope you can too. I will continue to raise funds to help give him the best quality of life I can - for as long as I can!  Please continue to help me keep him safe, comfortable and smiling for as long as possible, for him and his children.
