Darren Layne Levescy Fundraiser
Donation protected
Let's help Darren Layne Levescy in his fight against cancer. We are raising money to cover funding for cancer treatments for Darren. He was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma, stage IV (there are 4 stage classifications - IV indicates that it involves one or more organs or tissue outside the lymphatic system, with or without the involvement of nearby lymph nodes)in March 2020.
Follicular Lymphoma is a form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma - this is a cancer of the white blood cells and affects the bone marrow, spleen, thymus and lymph nodes.
He and his wife, Tanya Methvin Levescy, were recently married in August 2019. This has been a major blow to them emotionally and financially. They have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic shelter at home mandates and even if the mandates get lifted any time soon, Darren is an hourly worker and his work hours have been affected. This treatment will impact their ability to cover overhead and the cost of the medical treatment.
Treatments were started very quickly. He received a port and started chemo treatments in April 2020. He has insurance but the co-pay and deductible are hefty, coming in at over $6,000.
In the spirit of transparency, this platform charges $.30 a donation and a fee of 2.9%. As such we set a goal of $7500 in order to ensure that the treatment cost could be covered as well as minor incidentals.
