It been the toughest year yet !
My name is Darren Araki and up to six months ago I was my wife’s caregiver . My wife Janell Araki who is still awaiting a kidney transplant and currently on dialysis and suffers from a rare disease called Calciphylaxis (which caused her to have amputations) just recently suffered two heart attacks within three weeks of each other and became totally dependent on a wheel chair .
To make things worst this all happened while I was recovering from back surgery to repair damage from a fall BUT most recently I have been suffering from an un diagnosed lower back issue that is causing extreme pain in both legs, leaving me barely able to stand let alone walk. In the last couple of weeks I’ve been to three ER visits,two hospitalizations which involved three CAT scans,two MRI’s but no conclusive diagnosis or treatment plan besides managing the pain .
In addition to our mounting medical bills we are now in need of hiring people to assist us with everyday things like going to the bathroom (which we need make handicap accessible),preparing food or at last resort ordering from a delivery service,transporting my wife to her dialysis treatments three times a day and not to mention my transportation to and from the Drs.
The Drs. are trying a medication that suppose to help with nerve pain but unfortunately the cost is $400 plus a month.
At this point we’ve been able to cope while using our savings but as you can imagine that’s becoming depleted.
So any donations would be much appreciated !
