Darraghs swim therapy

Darragh was diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy at three months old. His diagnosis is LAMA2 muscular dystrophy which is a merosin deficiency, he is missing the merosin protein in the muscles which is genetic from both parents. His condition results in muscles being much weaker than the average person and over time the muscles Start to get weaker and deteriorate. With a shortened life expectancy and being unable to walk Darragh hasn’t had an easy start in life and also after losing his father at a young age. My goal is to do what I can to make Darraghs muscles stronger, with his hydrotherapy sessions no longer going ahead due to covid it is really disappointing as water physio therapy was doing darragh the world of good. I recently came across a swim lab international intense water physio course in Lanzarote which is an intense water physio therapy for children with disabilities. There are limited spaces available for July 2021 and the price for a week swim disability course is €1480 and then flights etc on top of it and being a single mother coming up to Christmas i wish I had this kind of money to pay for this course but that’s why I took to make this fundraiser as it is just a small step ahead to help darragh get stronger, any help would be so appreciated it is just one small step in the direction of Darraghs journey❤️
