Darling Liza Interiors - Startup
Greetings! I am launching this campaign in order to raise funds to cushion the start-up cost of my brand new company, "Darling Liza Interiors". Although I've been up and running for a few months now (since May 2017), I have been paying for everything out of pocket in order to demonstrate good faith in myself and my own efforts, before ever asking anyone else to invest in blind faith.
So far, so good!
I've acquired quite a bit of business and am building a reputation for myself in the field. I provide a number of services at extremely low costs to customers as I market myself to "average Jo and JoAnne" as a matter of my own personal ethics and understanding of the fact that most of us do not have exhaustable funds to spend on anything that isn't, well, edible (lol). I also, however, know that even with expendable funds, many people take for granted the positive affect having a well composed, cohesive, beautiful and serene living space can impose on one's psyche and ability to function well both in and outside of the home. The basis of my business is to provide awareness of/access to this type of wellness and ease of living via my design-scapes and attention to my clients' unique personalities and needs. I aim to cater to the hardest working among us that may not often see the true fruits of their labor returned to them by any tangible means. The elders, single mothers, activists, community workers, teachers, new families/low income families, etc... are who I have at the forefront of my mind when I am marketing my services. I would like to be able to continue to provide my services at below market rates in order to provide beautiful, healing living spaces to those that need them most. My company philosophy (borrowed from one of my favorite aunties), "take what you've got, make it enough", serves customers well in that it greatly reduces the cost of decorating/furnishing spaces, however, repairs and refurbish projects still cost quite a bit once materials and labor are factored in. My goal (among others) is to acquire a storage facility and build a revolving stock of supplies (ie hardware/fixtures, paints, glues, nail guns, mitre boxes, saws, tape, rollers, sandpaper, brushes, nuts, bolts, screws, tools, ladders, moving pads, smocks, shoe covers, tarps, cleaning solutions, buckets, etc...) in order to keep costs low per project and keep my services accessible to clients with a modest income. Thus far I have been paying for everything out of pocket, and I have invested quite a bit in trying to get started and prove that I intend to go the distance and build a brand that is based in ethical principles and practices. I, eventually, would like to hire a team of young professionals to bring on board to help with projects, reduce the duration of projects from start to finish and work more efficiently as each player will be a master of their particular service area. I've tried my best to recoup the funds I've invested on my own, but until I get my footing, every job I take on is consequently more moneys spent on my end, trying to keep my price points low while simultaneously building my brand. Before I am reduced to building a lemonade stand, or knocking on doors asking to mow lawns, I figured I would give this method a go, and see if I can garner any support from my beautiful and beloved friends and family (I hear flattery works miracles *wink wink*) who all know my journey and my heart and understand how big a leap this was/is for me and want to see me staying afloat! Any help will be greatly appreciated, and I look forward to even further showing and proving that I have the talent, the will, and will not squander the means to making my business one that lasts and provides opportunities for sustainable work to young brothers and sisters.
