Darlene Rebuilds from the Ashes

Most of you know me through my Metal Art.

 I moved back to Southern California  about 3 years ago to be with my family and to help when my Dad had serious medical issues.  He had  a leg amputated , his kidneys failed and he went on dialysis.

I love being with my family and helping my Mom with the care needed for my Dad.

I was fortunate to be able to continue my love of creating Metal Sculptures in a small shop at my parents home.  Through the last couple of years I have been able to expand my small shop area to a working Studio and added a gallery which many of you have visited.

Unfortunatetly,  on Easter Sunday evening we had a fire which started in the laundry room.  That fire totally burned my work shop, studio, and gallery, and alot of my brothers house which is next door.  Along with the buildings the fire took all my tools, many of the Art pieces on display,  all my personal belongings and most of my brothers personal belongings.

When the fire started my brother was able to break my door down and get me and my dog Lucy out safely.  

My family and our pets are all safe and that is what is important.

We are faced with a huge clean-up and need to rebuild the structures. I need to replace at least the basic tools I use to create Metal Art.  We do not have insurance to cover these needs.  It will be a slow long process for us to get back to where we where before the fire.  

My brother , our family and his friends have started the clean-up process ...... a weeks work has only made a small dent in the disaster left my the fire.  GIVING UP IS NOT AN OPTION.  We have been able to rent a large open-end dumpster , we will need at least one more possibly two.  We have had some building materials donated but will need  alot more. 

Any help through donations and your continuing prayers and support you can give us will be so greatly appreciated.

We need to keep moving forward so we can get through this very emotional and trying time.  So many people have already helped with donations of clothing, personal grooming products and basic necessities. My family and I are very thankful for all the support and love we have received.  Without this love and support I don't think I would be able to get through this.
