Darcy needs a legal name change

 Many people have never known me as anything but Darcy, but the truth is that legally my name is different. As I am trans, my chosen name holds a very high importance and it needs to become legal. I tried to live with having my legal name staying as it was, but over time, with many people refusing to use my chosen name, having to repeat my now 'dead' name that is attached to many painful memories as well as trans and homophobic periods of my life, things had to change. 

Thats where you come in. Since coming out as Transgender my life has changed for the better, but I need help to legally change my name. The cost of changing your name when it's not due to a marriage is very high. I have tried but as I am disabled and currently do not have a job, I have no way of saving up for this important legal change. Your help would have a huge impact on my mental and physical health. 

Any left over funds will be going towards raising money for top surgery, which I hope to achieve by the end of next year. For almost 20 years I have struggled with have breasts, carrying horrific body dysphoria inside of me that I was forced for most of my life, to repress so deeply, that even writing this took me several weeks. Please help me change my life for the better and take the steps towards having my body and legal name represent who I truly am, not what was written on a birth certificate 30 years ago when no one knew who I was. Even the smallest amount will help me so much, thank you, for all of your help, for your support and your kindness. I hope that the strength I will find within the changes will allow me to help others in the trans community too.
