It’s Reconstruction Time, and Danzversity is Rebuilding from the Ground up!!
Due to COVID-19 and gathering restrictions, we had to close our physical dance space to public classes in March of this year. On May 10th, we closed our doors on White Horse Trail for good. It has been a whirlwind of emotion for all of us to say goodbye to this chapter of the studio.
But we are not giving up!
We opened our doors July 1st, 2017 to be a dance studio that exists to promote creativity, positivity and inspire others. Danzversity is not just a name, place or dance program, it is a movement. A movement that embraces humans and their identity exactly as they are to plant seeds of trust toward each other no matter what the beauty of differences says. We have to believe that we as humans can collectively gather and be one. Danzversity allows that freedom of vulnerability to be yourself and be loved. We exist for humanity first. Gather and be one. You ask why we are different from other ideas, we are true in that we embrace the word different-diverse, Danzversity. This is something that we bring through every single one of our programs and creating a strong dance family.
Danzversity- A Place Where Dance, Diversity and the Arts are Freedom, fulfills the intimate connection of human interaction through building friendships and commUNITY through dance- the universal language. The word Diversity in Danzversity translates to culture, race, gender, social status, religion, political views, traditions and I can go on. The word Danz in Danzversity translates to dance, body language, movement, language, expression, creativity, freedom, music, art and more. At Danzversity, we foster a welcoming environment for all humans to interact and express movement without feeling judged or out of place. It facilitates learning of movement, conversations of culture, history, how we can be better humans on this planet, a place to #beyou, a place to speak the same language, a place to dance to express, not to impress.
We are the only studio in Austin, TX, to host a fusion of many styles from various dance cultures from around the world for children and adults.
As we reopen with the current state of the economy and the many waves of COVID restrictions, our hope is to reopen with safe, responsible in-person specifications along with a diverse offering of online classes.
We’d like to raise $35,000 to help keep celebrating diversity in dance, creativity, and in you! These donations will help cover the cost of moving expenses, outfitting the new space, floor installation, and down payment for a new Danzversity home!
If you're able to donate $50 or more, we would love to give you entry into our Exclusive Studio Reopening Party (upon state approved reopening).
The last time we used GoFundMe was to keep our doors open. This time around, we’re asking for your solidarity and support to help us reopen stronger than ever before! Feel free to send any questions to [email redacted].
We leave you with our vision:
Danzversity will be a preeminent creative space known for empowering and equipping students to reach their full potential, so that they can positively impact culture through the freedom of the arts.
Thank you for helping us rebuild.
