<div>The Danza de la Luna is commencing preparations for its second year here in Houston, Texas.

<div>This Danza is a powerful offering of ceremony that provides a space where women from all creeds come together to heal. We heal our traumas, our connection to our natural world, to ourselves and one another, and our tired spirits, and we do it together. That is what this moon dance is about. Supporting this ceremony is a profound way that you can keep the preservation of Indigenous tradition and the healing of women on a global level at the same time.

<div>Ceremonies of this scale are very costly. This is an entire week of education, supplies to maintain and support a large number of women who remain in an entirely outdoor space to pray and commune in nature. Community support is paramount in doing this work and so, we are grateful for anything you can give.

<div>This work ripples out to benefit and heal our larger communities. So, investing in the maintanence of these ceremonies and traditions is an investment in our collective restoration. At this time in our world, I can’t think of a better way to use our financial resources than in support of a cause that holds the intention of our collective healing.

<div>It is a huge effort and labor of love but also an honoring of her vision for our local Indigenous leader and teacher, Abuela M’api to open this ceremony for women.
</div>

<div>The founders of the Calmecac Indigenous Organization, with Abuela M'api have 24 years as tradition bearers with three generations of families reclaiming cultural traditions as southern-plains Indigenous people from Houston, Texas Gulf Coast. They are also of Mexica(n) &amp; American nationality. Indigenous ceremonial teachings of Texas and Mexico have been passed down to the collective's founding family as the next lineage of elders and spiritual leaders. Following structures left in place through oral tradition, they continue to respect Indigenous lineages in this territory.

<div>As a collective, we strive to hold on to our values and take pride in continuously organizing, bridging and holding open community spaces.

<div>Love, Respect, Courage, Honesty, Wisdom, Humility, and Truth are values and principles of Indigenous traditions and teachings. As women and people on a planet facing great chaos and insurmountable obstacles, we desperately need ways to live and heal rooted in these values.
