Dante's Medical Fund

Dante's Story:

In November 2016, my brother Dante Scarano, was rushed to L&M Hospital for internal bleeding. After a few tests they found tumors in his small and large intestines and it was decided that he should be transfered to Yale Hospital immediately. Dante underwent surgery to have the big tumors removed but not all of the tumors were removed. He was diagnosed with Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST), a GI cancer.

Dante’s form of cancer is very rare, especially for his age. He must take daily medication that costs over $100k a year as well as monthly doctors visits and MRIs to monitor the cancer, and he is only 24 years old.  It is a cronic cancer that he will live with for the rest of his life, as well as all the costs that come with it.

The financial burden as well as the emotional toll it has taken on the family has led me to put together a fundraiser to help raise Dante and our parent’s spirits and help ease the financial crisis they are now facing.
