Qiana Davis (42 years old) employee of Speedway Store 7519 in Portage, married to Dantea Davis  (42 years old) also an employee of Speedway Store 7519 in Portage, with a 2 year old son in which they adopted. Qiana and Dantea are both kidney patients on dialysis 3 times a week both are in need of kidney transplants. Qiana went for her dialysis treatment on November 9th while Dantea stayed at home with their son, Qiana never returned from her treatment. Dantea did not know where his wife was.  Dantea was calling frantically looking for his wife, he did not receive any phone calls on her whereabouts. Dantea contacted Jennifer Chavez and advised her of what was going on that he cant "find" his wife, does not know the whereabouts of her. Finally, the hospital called Dantea and advised him that Qiana was in ICU, while at her kidney dialysis treatment she went into cardiac arrest.  I (Jennifer Chavez) picked Dantea up to go retrieve his vehicle. Upon arrival at the hospital Dantea was told due to Covid-19 he could not see his wife. Qiana's condition at this time was she was "unresponsive and not breathing on her own with no brain activity, life support was keeping her alive. The hospital tried everything at this point they took her body temperature down to the lowest it could go and brought her body temperature back up to normal, thinking that this would "restart or reboot" her brain. She stayed on life support until November 17th where the doctors and Dantea decided to remove her from life support/breathing machines any and all tubes and see if she would have any brain activity after this. After being taken off machines she was breathing on her own, her vital signs were stable but weakened.  As far as brain activity, Dantea and their son were able to do a video call with her in the hospital and she responded in the way of her eye lids moved upon hearing her son an husbands voice, the hospital staff keep her medicated but she never came through. There was no change in her brain functions. Dantea held on to his "faith in GOD  that his wife was going to pull through. Dantea is our midnight person at Speedway Store 7519. On November 18, 2020 we  received a call from Dantea saying that no change in Qiana but he is hopeful as she is still off the machines breathing on her own. While speaking with Dantea we learned that him nor his wife did not have any  life insurance among other things. On November 19, 2020 we received a call from Dantea saying that Qiana did not make it, she passed away about 5:30 am.  We lost one of our team members, among going through the loss  of our team member, we now need to be there to help Dantea also our team member, with the loss of his wife and help him in any way possible, as he is at a complete loss himself. Any little bit would help and be GREATLY appreciated to help Dantea get things taken care of, medial expenses/funeral expenses/ everyday bills.
