Dan's Treatment

In November 2015 my sister Bridget's husband,Dan Peart (Dad of Jack 14 and Annabelle 12 ), was diagnosed with Stage 4 bowel and liver cancer. With no treatment facilities in Chinchilla he relocated the family to Brisbane for his year of treatment. Bridget gave up work to help care for Dan.
In the December, Dan underwent bowel surgery followed by 3 months of chemotherapy. He never complained and as most of you know he maintained his wonderful sense of humor! In April he had surgery to remove the tumors from his liver followed by another round of chemotherapy. After a few hiccups along the way and the toughest fight you could witness, good news was delivered by the doctors in July 2016 that he had beaten the odds and was cancer free!
Unfortunately at his 12 month scan 2 weeks ago doctors found 2 new tumors on his spine. The cancer is back!! This heartbreaking news means that Dan and Bridget and the kids will no longer be able to live in their favourite hometown of Chinchilla - once again they are moving back to Brisbane. This time it will be a more permanent move as Dan has now come to the realisation that he needs to be close to the best medical care possible for the foreseeable future.
Today Dan begins Radation Therapy. It comes at a cost of over $17,000 - only 75% is covered by Medicare leaving over $4,000 in out of pocket expenses. Already in the last two weeks they have opened medical bills totalling over $3,000. This "go fund me" page has been set up as a suggestion to all of those people asking how they can help. Your donation and support will be greatly appreciated and go towards helping Dan and Bridget cover some of the moving and medical costs associated with another successful treatment for Dan's cancer.
