Dad started feeling sick earlier this year and attributed his leg pain to cold weather and/or arthirits. By April it got so bad he made an appointment with his doctor. Despite his pain he kept working until May. On May 4th he was admitted to the hospital. Since then he has spent very few days at home and the last day he was able to work was May 1st.
This latest hospital admission began on June 9th. He has been diagnosed with Wegner's Granulomatosis (a form of Vasculitis) and severe pancreatitis. The picture at the top of the collage was taken April 12, 2014. The weeks following this his health would rapidly decline. The wedding pictures were taken on June 7th. He walked down the aisle with the help of a cane, but otherwise he was in a wheelchair. This was the last time he walked. On July 3rd he was moved from Johnson City to Nashville where he would have access to more specialized care, and on July 8th he was moved to the ICU. He is still in the ICU.
Dad has short term disability insurance but it won't last forever. Even that pay is not 100%. His devoted wife has been with him every day also, and being 5 hours away from home she has incurred extra expenses also. Despite being unable to work his bills keep accruing and on top of those they now have medical bills. We would like Dad and his wife to just focus on getting better and not have the added burden of financial stress looming overhead.
Anything helps and my family and I appreciate any contributions that can help my dad as he continues this long road to recovery. Thank you!
