On September 12, 2017 we found out that my husband has Cancer. It is a rapid growing type. This was after 4 months of being bounced around from one doctor to another (thinking infection, or GERD, or various other possibilities), and losing 35 lbs in 2 1/2 months, the results of the biopsy's provided a solid diagnosis.
He cannot start his 6-12 week stint of Monday-Friday appointments of Radiation and Chemo until after being cleared of any dental work needing done. So today, we went to the dentist to find out that the next two days as well will be filled with cleanings, extractions, fillings, a crown... and possibly a root canal! ALSO, He cannot start his therapies for the cancer until at least 3 weeks after his extraction is done...
Every time we try to take 1 step forward to attack the cancer as soon as possible, we feel like we are having to take 3 steps back, having to jump through more hoops, and at added expense!
I am SO thankful for the Love, Prayers, and Support of our Family and Friends, Calvary Chapel here in Meridian has been so supportive of us, bringing meals by so that it is easier for me to get him some nutritious food into him when I get home from work. They will be helping make sure he has his Nutrition Shake in the mornings, so I can get to work on time. Offering rides, when available, to his Radiation/Chemo appointments so that I don't have to take off of work... In as much as they help him, they too are blessing him and me BOTH!!
Please pray for my husband Danny Philyaw, and me, as we go through this difficult season ahead. The Lord said "In this world there WILL be trouble" and He promises to be right there with us during the good times... as well as the worst!
I was reminded by my niece Hope Kendrick in her recent post... I don't know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow! I am SO grateful that we have the Lord, for His love, mercies, and forgiveness and knowing that with God, ALL things are POSSIBLE! Our prayer is for TOTAL healing, and many more years together...
Again, thank you to ALL who have shown and been an extension of God's caring, love, grace and support to Danny and Myself! For there is a LONG JOURNEY we are about to embark upon, not planned, but we will take together; by the grace of God, we shall prevail!
