A proper funeral for my dear friend

Donation protected
I'm raising money to have a proper funeral for Daniel Michael Squares. Someone my family,  friends and I hold incredibly close to our hearts.

Daniel Squares was a dear friend of mine.
We knew each other growing up together in Frankford, and had an incredibly tight knit group of friends from childhood, and it has been amazing watching everyone grow up to be the adults they are today. I always expected we would all sit around the bleachers at Simpson playground in our 40's, watching our kids play ball, like a real life version of king of the hill.

Squares' spirit was amazing, and he was always the person to keep you laughing. When things were bad or awkward, we all remember his sad balloon noise. When he lost his teeth in a rather unfortunate incident, he would pop out his bridgework and make faces akin to a jack o lantern at the most ridiculous times. More than this, he was an incredibly devoted friend, who we could rely on to talk about everything, books, our lives, music, the secrets of the universe, or make up stories about our pets. He was incredibly interested in everything, and his thirst for knowledge and learning was amazing. I have so many memories over the past 15 years where Squares was always a pivotal character, as many of us probably do.

Depression is a monster. Depression is a master at hiding in the shadows, keeping an eye when you seem to be doing well, and pouncing when you least expect it. And if not contained, can devour you whole.

Dan seemed to be doing great, he was engaged to a beautiful woman, Amber Bohleman, whom he had known since childhood. She was perfectly matched for him and she brought out the best in him. He had a job he enjoyed, where he worked with our friend Kevin. We recently got together as friends, and nothing seemed off. Somehow, we really missed out on his suffering. There is no explanation, and it happened out of the blue. We can find solace perhaps in that maybe he is with his mother, who I know he loved and missed terribly. I hope eventually, we can heal together, and that our memories of our wonderful, goofy, and kind friend will make us smile.

In the meantime, he deserves a proper service. Unfortunately, as is the case in today's world, funeral expenses are enormous, and this was unforseen, therefore, funds are incredibly limited. If you have any amount you can give to bring our brother to the other side in the fashion he, his family and his friends deserve, please help, because it would be incredibly kind and mean so much to a lot of hurting people.

Thank you.
