Daniel’s Journey to Citizenship
Donation protected
My name is Brian Castillo, and I am raising money for my husband Daniel. We are currently getting ready to renew his two-year conditional residency to permanent resident status and hope to have him complete his citizenship test within the following year.
My husband and I have been married for 3 years and going on 5 years together. We are both currently in graduate school, which takes away a lot of our funding, and is why we are asking for some assistance with our current legal fees. Daniel is currently finishing his Master's degree in nursing and wants to give back to the world by helping heal others. He came to the United States with his parents at the age of 9 and has always dreamed of being in the medical field. He has faced significant barriers but pushed through and kept moving forward.
Daniel was a DACA recipient, which allowed him to continue his growth and ability to gain experience, education, and work prior to our marriage. He is very resilient and hardworking, caring for his family, me, and our two little dogs (Cashew and Coco).
With the current climate in the US and changes in our socioeconomic status, we worry that we may not be able to have the full funding we need to get Daniel his permanent residency. If you are able to donate, our family would greatly appreciate it. We would love to continue to grow and allow Daniel to succeed.
